# Jeff Brines

> Custom software and applied AI, informed by finance, operations, and product leadership. Based in Teton Valley, Idaho.

Jeff builds software and AI systems for companies through GuideRail, often replacing expensive SaaS tools and spreadsheet sprawl. His work includes FP&A and forecasting, internal applications, workflow automation, and data pipelines. He has served as CFO and CPO at venture-backed companies and spent 11 years at FactSet.

Piper and Jambr are the lead portfolio examples. Piper's screenshots use a fictional company and generated demo figures, not client results. Jambr is in beta and used by several construction firms. Atlas is a personal JIT software experiment (Swift iOS, web, and MCP), not the primary business case study. The downloadable résumé is dated 2024; the About page and LinkedIn describe more recent work.

The site serves full article bodies and project descriptions in HTML without requiring JavaScript. Markdown indexes and article versions are generated from the same public content on every build, including Substack imports. Each article includes its canonical URL, publication date, and source attribution. Outdoor Pulse has a separate byline and feed from Jeff's personal writing.
