Back in October of 2023 I caught wind of a lesser known bike company, Guerilla Gravity, going bankrupt. While this sort of thing isn’t exactly rare in the specialty cycling space, what caught my attention were some of the details suggesting maybe we’d see more of this sort of thing due to the COVID whipsaw effect. I penned a short post on a popular mountain bike website’s forum that blew up. After well over 100,000 views, a lot of finance talk and nerdiness the chief editor of the site sat down and interviewed me for and hour and forty minutes on the subject matter at hand. While I recognize discussing interest rates, capital allocation, COVID, supply chain and bikes may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I wanted to post it here for all to see.
