For those who don’t have time to watch the video, here’s the takeaway: the fork shows flashes of brilliance, but overall performance has been just okay. Unfortunately, I’ve run into recurring durability issues — this is the second unit Fox has sent me, and I’m still seeing a leak on the brake side.
Layer in the high price, limited fender options, extra weight, and the fact most riders will need a new front wheel, and I can’t currently recommend it in good faith.
That said, it’s worth remembering that first-gen products often come with teething problems. Fox has clearly laid the groundwork, and I expect they’ll iron out the flaws and build on the bright spots moving forward. Put more succinctly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Podium as the best fork on the market in the coming seasons, its just not there – now.
