I've been CFO and CPO at venture-backed companies, shipped machine learning systems into production, and built software from initial design through deployment. My work combines finance, product management, and engineering: understanding what a business needs and taking responsibility for getting it built.
I started GuideRail with my dad in late 2024. We combine his decades of CFO experience with my work in operations and software to help small businesses improve their finance and operating systems.
I also founded Rali, a ride tracking and racing platform. Other projects include finance tools, construction management software, and tools for evaluating AI systems. You can see examples on the projects page.
My professional background is on LinkedIn. A 2024 copy of my résumé is also available below.
I live in Teton Valley, Idaho, just over the pass from Jackson Hole. Mountain biking and skiing have been a large part of my life, including racing and product testing. I write about the outdoor industry here, along with finance, technology, and the occasional personal essay.
